CTAG increases its R&D&I capabilities to move towards electric, autonomous and connected mobility

CTAG expands its R&D capabilities with a new investment co-financed by the Xunta de Galicia and the European Union, through two new projects in order to boost R&D and the validation of new disruptive technologies applied to autonomous and connected vehicles (File IN607E 2020/01), and to develop and validate electric vehicles (File IN607E 2020/02).

The new scientific-technical equipment will allow CTAG to progress in research excellence and strengthen its capacities to improve its position at an international level, through the development of its own R&D&I projects alone or in effective collaboration with companies. In addition, the equipment acquired, together with the improvement of the scientific-technical capabilities derived from the development of its own lines of research, will allow CTAG to offer the productive fabric high added value technological services necessary for experimentation and testing to put on the market innovative products and services that will lead to an increase in industrial competitiveness.

In order to guarantee the viability of the infrastructures and the transfer of knowledge to the Sector, CTAG has defined a work plan for the 2020-2023 time horizon. Since the aid was approved last September, work has been underway to install and start up the equipment, as well as to train technical and research staff.

The projects are financed the Axencia Galega de Innovación, within the framework of the call “Ayudas para el fortalecimiento de los centros de generación de conocimiento (Aid for the strengthening of centres of knowledge generation” (DOG No. 33, of February 18, 2020), with the support of the Vicepresidencia segunda and the Consellería de Economía, Empresa e Innovación, and is co-financed by the European Union, within the framework of the ERDF Operational Programme Galicia 2014-2020. Objetivo temático de promover el desarrollo tecnológico, la innovación y una investigación de calidad, para incrementar el número de investigadores que trabajan en instalaciones de infraestructuras de investigación mejoradas, contribuyendo también al incremento del número de patentes solicitadas (Thematic objective of promoting technological development, innovation and quality research, to increase the number of researchers working in improved research infrastructure facilities, also contributing to the increase in the number of patents applied for ”.
