Presentation at CTAG of the latest advances in connectivity and autonomous vehicle with Groupe PSA

Last 6 September, CTAG held the Innovation Meeting to present the latest advances in connectivity and the AVA “Autonomous Vehicle for All” programme for the development of autonomous vehicle and associated technical solutions, as well as to know the advances in driver assistance functions (ADAS), already available in the latest launches of the Peugeot, Citroën and DS brands.

Carla Gohin, Director of Research & Advanced Engineering of Groupe PSA participated in this event together with Francisco Conde, Conselleiro de Economía, Empleo e Industria de la Xunta de Galicia; Jaime Moreno, Subdirector de Movilidad de la Dirección General de Tráfico (DGT); Frédéric Puech, Directeur Pôle Ibérique of Groupe PSA and Luis Moreno, General Director of CTAG.

In the course of the Innovation Meeting, progress in the different lines of cooperation between Groupe PSA and CTAG was reviewed: human-machine interface (HMI) for autonomous, intelligent and connected vehicle; and innovations in cooperative systems and new interior architectures for advanced comfort. In addition, a visit to the laboratories associated with these lines of work was carried out, including CTAG’s Innovation Centre in Electronics.

Innovation Meeting highlighted Groupe PSA’s commitment to Spain in matters of R&D through the innovation collaborative ecosystem developed in Galicia in collaboration with CTAG and the support of the Xunta de Galicia.

AEROCAR seeks companies interested in participating in the development of new prototypes

Call for expression of interest

Those who are interested should submit their ideas for the prototype before June 30.

The first two phases of the AEROCAR project come to an end with the publication of the first results of the project. A documentation compiles the studies carried out on technologies and aeronautical and automotive materials. This material is available on the project website www.aerocar-sudoe.com.

COLLABORATORS HUNTING

Currently, the AEROCAR project is finalizing the third phase, which will define the prototypes that will be manufactured during phase 4. During this fourth phase, Leartiker and CTAG will develop two aeronautical prototypes in which automotive materials and technologies will be used. Rescoll and Inegi will manufacture two other automotive prototypes with materials and technologies used in the aeronautical sector. To define these prototypes, the collaboration of different companies that provide real application cases that have an industrial impact for their development is necessary. The technologies that will be most valued when designing the prototypes are: Hybrid injection moulding / overmoulding, Thermo-stamping, SMC or BMC, VBO prepreg, Filament winding, Adhesive, Filament winding and Co-curing. They are all processes related to polymeric materials and combinations of these with other materials.

The development potential of both sectors, the degree of innovation / patentability of the submitted idea, the procured profit or advantage through technological transfer, technical / technological and economic viability, and finally, the necessary resources for the development of prototypes will all be assessed.

For this reason, we, in AEROCAR, call for an expression of interest: we are looking for partners who are interested in collaborating on the project. Companies that are interested in participating may contact the following Project Managers before June 30:

LEARTIKER: Asier Retolaza, aretolaza@leartiker.com

CTAG: Denise García, denise.garcia@ctag.com

INEGI: Susana Sousa, ssousa@inegi.up.pt

RESCOLL: Thomas Stimpfling, thomas.stimpfling@rescoll.fr

CTAG participates in the XII National Congress of Composite Materials (MATCOMP 2017) with the project AEROCAR

San Sebastián
21, 22 and 23 June 2017

MATCOMP_2017

This biennial congress provides a unique forum for the presentation and discussion of the latest results of research and innovation projects related to the field of composites and high performance materials. This year, the Congress aims to reinforce the presence of advanced materials in relevant sectors in Spain, such as aeronautics, the automotive industry, railways, capital goods and machining/tooling, etc.

CTAG will take advantage of the forum of specialists that meets in this congress to present the conclusions of FORTAPE project (H2020-FOF, nº 636860) and to show how the experience gained in this project was key to make a centre specialized in the automotive business, like CTAG, find synergies and transfer possibilities in another technological sector, like aeronautics, opening a new line of work in order to capitalize and add value to the wide experience acquired over years of research and specialized customer service. Thus, through the new AEROCAR project (Interreg SUDOE, SOE1 / P1 / E0020), it is possible to boost an upward sector that is already prioritized in the European Commission’s strategic innovation agendas, Member States and even for many regional governments, which will generate an important socio-economic impetus for the regions included in the European Southwest Space.

The MATCOMP 2017 congress will take place at the Kursaal Congress Hall in San Sebastian from June 21 to 23. Check here the full programme: http://matcomp2017.com/images/PROGRAMA-MATCOMP2017.pdf

CTAG deploys MOBiNET services in Vigo

MOBiNET envisages a new “Internet of Mobility” where transport users meet providers of next-generation mobility services. MOBiNET is a European e-market place of mobility services for business and end users. This project seeks to overcome the obstacles encountered by the widespread deployment of ITS services due to the complexity of the real world of mobility information and infrastructure, which e.g. prevents seamless coverage of services across borders throughout Europe.

MOBiNET logo

The MOBiNET concept includes five key areas of innovation:

  • Federated directory of all European online services for transport and mobility;
  • Identity authentication and management scheme for single sign-on by any user for multiple services;
  • Unified accounting & billing framework, allowing roaming by users & payment clearing between providers;
  • Secure operating environment for in-vehicle and portable devices, offering (for users) a dedicated app-directory and (for service providers) access to all subscribing users;
  • B2B community & marketplace for automatic negotiation of service agreements when adding extra service components and data sources to existing service offerings.

MOBiNET will open the door to harmonised services, seamless connectivity, instant access to transport data, single subscription and billing for travellers and a one-stop shop for mobility services.

At the Spanish  Pilot Site, on the Test Site of Vigo, CTAG has deployed 3 of the services running on the MOBiNET platform: RTTI (Real Time Traffic Information), GLOSA (Green Light Optimal Speed Advice)  and MMTA (MultiModal Travel Advice).

The RTTI service provides data about traffic status using inductive loops data all around the country. The MMTA service includes information about train, buses and in this site specially boats. In the case of GLOSA, in the Test Site of Vigo there is 1 traffic light at the CTAG Test Track, for pre-tests  and verification of the system, and 1 traffic light in the City of Vigo for the validation of the system on real environment. These services, and the MOBiNET platform itself, are validated on desk, public roads and CTAG private test track with participants to provide results and make improvements to the next version of the MOBiNET platform and services.
