CTAG is participating in AutHUMate, a research project focused on improving interaction between people and advanced driver-assistance systems, with the aim of enhancing road safety and users’ understanding of increasingly automated technologies.
AutHUMate focuses on the design and validation of a multimodal and adaptive human-technology interaction (HTI) framework, aimed at fostering safer, more transparent and more explainable collaboration between the driver and the vehicle. The project addresses key challenges such as distraction, fatigue, cognitive load and the handover of control in driver assistance systems.
CTAG mainly contributes to the analysis of user and stakeholder needs, the definition of functional, non-functional and technical requirements, the design of human-technology interaction strategies, and the conduct of field operational trials (FOTs) in real-world driving environments.
AutHUMate will be carried out over a period of 36 months (April 2026 – March 2029) and involves an international consortium of organisations from industry and academia. The project has been funded by the Horizon Europe programme, under call HORIZON‑CL5‑2025‑04.
