The CELESTE project (dynamiC spEed Limits compliancE for optimiSed Traffic managEment), is an initiative in which partners with different backgrounds and from all across Europe, will collaborate to answer open questions with regard to automatic speed reduction and compliance in our cities: What is the appropriate speed limit for a specific city section? Is the speed limit for a city section at times too high or too low depending on changing conditions? How to modify and ensure compliance of a speed limit in real time? How to assist traffic managers to achieve such compliance?
The partners, who seek to strengthen collaboration across different disciplines of knowledge have started the EU funded project with a virtual kick-off meeting that took place on 29th April 2021.
The consortium that consists of private companies, municipalities with their urban development agencies, research centres, universities, and an international association, is led by CTAG – Automotive Technology Centre of Galicia (Spain), and includes the Barcelona City Council (Spain); Municipal Institute of Information Technology of Barcelona (Spain); Barcelona Regional Agency for Urban Development (Spain); ENEA – Italian National Agency for New Technologies, Energy and Sustainable Economic Development (Italy); City of Hamburg (Germany); LSBG Hamburg (Germany); City of Helmond (The Netherlands); SEAT, S.A. (Spain); SKODA AUTO (Czech Republic); Eindhoven University of Technology (The Netherlands); TomTom NV (The Netherlands); TomTom LTG (The Netherlands); Technical University of Catalonia (Spain); ZONE Cluster Nonprofit Ltd. (Hungary); Ferrovial (Spain) and CI3 (Spain).
