Acoustics and Vibration

Vibration characterisation and improvement of acoustic comfort in vehicle interiors

Vibration and acoustic tests

We have extensive experience in the automotive, rail, marine, defence and aerospace sectors, participating in vehicle development projects and working on-site at production plants, test tracks and technical centres across Europe.

We are accredited to ISO/IEC 17025 for test methods in accordance with standards 60068-2 (sine, random and shock vibration) and ISO 7626-2 / 7626-5 for modal analysis—an ENAC accreditation for which we are the first laboratory in Spain and one of the few in Europe.

In addition, we hold specific manufacturer accreditations for techniques such as the assessment of parasitic noise or accelerated vibration and climatic ageing tests.

Human Rated Tests

A multiaxial system for assessing vibration and acoustic comfort inside a vehicle, designed to conduct tests with or without occupants in a controlled and safe environment.

What it enables:

  • Measurement of vibration exposure in the workplace and whilst driving.
  • Subjective assessment of comfort through surveys of passengers on board.
  • Recording of physical and physiological parameters (seat–subject transfer function, muscle activity, etc.).
  • Tests carried out under reproducible conditions, such as rolling.
Experimental Modal Analysis

Vibration analysis of components and structures.

What it is used for:

  • Identification and characterisation of the resonance frequencies of structures.
  • Component evolution comparison.
  • Tooling validation.
Accelerated ageing
Tests to assess the strength, durability and long-term performance of components and large structures exposed to extreme vibration and temperature conditions.
Component acoustics

Quick and accurate identification of annoying noises in components and passenger compartments.

What we do:

  • On-site acoustic inspection using a directional microphone to detect humming noises and resonances.
  • Subjective assessment based on standardised and international scales.
  • Measurement of sound levels and psychoacoustic parameters.
