The President of the Xunta de Galicia, Alfonso Rueda, today visited the facilities of the Galician Automotive Technology Centre (CTAG) to see first-hand the progress being made in the Galician automotive sector.
During the meeting, the work carried out in the different lines of research of the centre was shown and there were some demonstrations in strategic areas such as the Factory of the Future, Electric Vehicle and Electronics and Intelligent Mobility.
During the visit, he went accompanied by María Jesús Lorenzana Somoza, Regional Minister of Economy and Industry, and by the Mayor of Porriño, Alejandro Lorenzo, who wanted to emphasize that ‘they are very proud to have a centre like CTAG in Porriño’.
They also had the opportunity to enjoy a short tour in a 100% electric and autonomous vehicle: CTAG’s Shuttle, which Rueda said ‘is the future, and we are talking about developing a vehicle that years ago could only be seen in the movies’.
After the visit, our general director, Luis Moreno, also highlighted the constant support and collaboration of the Xunta de Galicia towards CTAG, which since 2002 has been offering its help to continue improving results and offering increasingly efficient services to the sector. He also wanted to highlight how ‘proud we are to have the G in our logo, which makes us carry the Galician competitiveness and innovation in our brand’.
Finally, the president of the Xunta wanted to congratulate the centre for consolidating itself as a Galician reference at international level for its work in designing, innovating and exporting these new technologies.
