CTAG is acting as coordinator for BuildSafe, an R&D project that aims to improve safety and training for workers in the construction sector through the application of advanced digital technologies. The initiative brings together organisations from Spain and Romania with the aim of accelerating the digital transformation of one of the industries most exposed to occupational risks.
The construction industry continues to face significant challenges relating to safety, ergonomics and working conditions. To help tackle these challenges, BuildSafe will combine artificial intelligence (AI), extended reality (XR) and the Internet of Things (IoT) to develop innovative solutions aimed at preventing risks, improving workers’ wellbeing and enhancing training in real-world work environments.
During the project, the consortium will work on developing AI-based ergonomic monitoring systems capable of detecting hazardous situations in real time, training tools supported by XR technologies tailored to the construction sector, and IoT solutions to promote safer and healthier working environments. All of these will subsequently be tested on real construction sites to assess their effectiveness and applicability.
The project comprises CTAG, as the lead partner, OVEUN and the company SM CRIS Construction. Together, they will adapt and validate advanced digital technologies to meet the specific needs of the construction sector and contribute to a safer, more efficient and people-centred industry.
