The Automotive Technology Centre of Galicia (CTAG) has held a technical conference to show the progress of the European Hi-Drive project, which aims to promote automated and safe driving.
Francisco Sánchez, Director of Electronics and Intelligent Mobility at CTAG, together with Aria Etemad, head of the Hi-Drive project at Volkswagen Group, opened the day with a brief presentation on the project, accompanied by other prominent members of the C2C Communication Consortium.
During the event, there were live demonstrations of prototype vehicles equipped with advanced systems that enable safer and more reliable automated mobility. These demonstrations showcased how these technological solutions can facilitate safer and more efficient automated driving, thereby reducing the necessity for human intervention.
Hi-Drive, funded by the European Union, brings together more than 40 entities from all over Europe and aims to extend the automated operational environment of the vehicle to accelerate the deployment of autonomous driving in real conditions. CTAG is leading the trials in Spain in collaboration with SEAT S.A.
The event also included a specific session organised together with the C2C Communication Consortium, which addressed synergies between different European programmes and shared the joint progress made by CTAG and SEAT S.A. in the framework of the project.
