CTAG coordinates the ITS España course on Automated and autonomous driving

This course, organised by ITS España, took place last October 17 at the Dirección General de Tráfico in Madrid. In addition to CTAG, a number of organisations and companies involved in autonomous driving collaborated, including DGT, INSIA, ASTI, Ferrovial, Here, RACC and Telefónica. The course was coordinated by Francisco Sánchez Pons, Director of Electronics and Intelligent Transport Systems at CTAG.

This was an excellent opportunity to go into detail about the technologies involved in automated and autonomous driving together with outstanding professionals of the sector. The main international initiatives and projects in this field were presented as well as topics on which the vehicle of the future is being built: technologies, legislative aspects, infrastructures, connectivity and validation and set-up. This last topic was presented by Rosa Blanco, Head of the Department of Validation of Electronic Systems, Quality and HMI at CTAG.

Presentation of innovative projects in PSA Booster Day

Booster Day is an event organised to present innovative solutions for the Factory of the Future. The event, held last September 20th at the Armand Peugeot Forum in Poissy, France, brought together leading technology partners of Groupe PSA, from start-ups and R&D laboratories, to suppliers and public organisations.

CTAG has participated for the first time this year presenting its latest advances in quality control using collaborative robotics, with a system that will help to perfect the assembly and welding of components. This system, made up of a robot with 3D sensor and analysis software, can analyse the conformity of parts. It has been designed following the guidelines of Industry 4.0, so it is considered as a portable and flexible solution that will speed up communication with the operator.

Some of Groupe PSA’s innovation leaders such as Gilles Le Borgne (Quality and Engineering Director) and Yann Vincent (Industrial Director) were able to test this system personally.

CTAG participates in the XII National Congress of Composite Materials (MATCOMP 2017) with the project AEROCAR

San Sebastián
21, 22 and 23 June 2017

MATCOMP_2017

This biennial congress provides a unique forum for the presentation and discussion of the latest results of research and innovation projects related to the field of composites and high performance materials. This year, the Congress aims to reinforce the presence of advanced materials in relevant sectors in Spain, such as aeronautics, the automotive industry, railways, capital goods and machining/tooling, etc.

CTAG will take advantage of the forum of specialists that meets in this congress to present the conclusions of FORTAPE project (H2020-FOF, nº 636860) and to show how the experience gained in this project was key to make a centre specialized in the automotive business, like CTAG, find synergies and transfer possibilities in another technological sector, like aeronautics, opening a new line of work in order to capitalize and add value to the wide experience acquired over years of research and specialized customer service. Thus, through the new AEROCAR project (Interreg SUDOE, SOE1 / P1 / E0020), it is possible to boost an upward sector that is already prioritized in the European Commission’s strategic innovation agendas, Member States and even for many regional governments, which will generate an important socio-economic impetus for the regions included in the European Southwest Space.

The MATCOMP 2017 congress will take place at the Kursaal Congress Hall in San Sebastian from June 21 to 23. Check here the full programme: http://matcomp2017.com/images/PROGRAMA-MATCOMP2017.pdf
